Enjoy Card Games and Science Projects During the Stay at Home Order in El Paso, TX

Family Activities and Science Projects for Quarantine

According to an El Paso Times article, there are more than 300 confirmed COVID-19 cases in El Paso TX. The city health authority Dr. Hector Ocaranza asks that residents stay home as much as possible and wear a face covering if they go in public. El Paso City Council extended an emergency order that closes local bars and businesses until May 17.  Additionally, parks and recreation sites like Red Sands and Ascarate Park have been closed as a result of the stay-at-home order.

There is no denying that this pandemic has impacted all of us—violations of the stay-at-home order are punishable by fines of up to $1,000 or 180 days in jail, which makes abiding to the stay at home order the best option for all. Science Experiments at Home

Now that most kids are finishing their school year online, more responsibility for hands-on teaching falls on the shoulders of parents. You can go all out by setting up interactive labs, arts and crafts to teach your kids using a more creative approach. You can go into classic at-home projects like creating a homemade volcano and mixing hydrogen peroxide with baking soda to “make the volcano erupt,” or having your kids look at salt under a microscope and discuss mineral cleavages, providing a little lesson about geology. There are endless opportunities for projects you can do at home. Check out a few online resources below:
