Is the Nissan Skyline Available In the United States?
Everyone has heard the phrase, “you always want what you can’t have.” This rings true in many aspects of life, including the automotive industry. Car enthusiasts around the globe always pine after vehicles that are not available in their country, even if there are plenty of incredible options still available to them.
One such model that gets a lot of attention amongst enthusiasts globally is the Nissan Skyline, and you may be wondering if it’s a model that is available here in the United States.
If you beg us for a direct answer, we’d say “no.” The Nissan Skyline has never been sold in the United States. Of course, life is almost always much more complicated than this, and so is the case of the Skyline.

So, You Can Get a Nissan Skyline In the US?
The reason you can’t find the Nissan Skyline in the United States is because when it finally was imported stateside, it wasn’t called the Skyline. Instead, it went by the name Infiniti G, though more recently Q is the model designation that has replaced that line of cars.
Of course, the Skyline nameplate has a storied history dating back to 1957, and the model that many enthusiasts desire doesn’t begin appearing until 1981 in the form of the 2000RS. It did away with some of the unnecessary luxuries and was meant for racing prowess. In 1989 we saw the R32, the R33 in 1993 and the R34 in 1998.
These particular models never did make their way over to the United States. It wasn’t until the V35, the 11th generation of the Skyline, in 2001 that we see the Skyline exported to the U.S. as the Infiniti G35. But, with no straight-six engine or turbocharger, amongst other things, this isn’t usually the type of Skyline many enthusiasts seek.
So, the more complicated answer is that you can find a variation of the Skyline branded under a different name in the United States, but it won’t be the same model from the glory days of Skyline’s sports car past.
